Destination Shopping. Who invented the Mall?

Driving through Tampa and over the beautiful Tampa Bay to Clearwater, there was a lot of traffic.  Yet, people are fighting this traffic to get to the Mall.  The consumer knows that the Mall is the place where they can purchase the majority of their items in one location which makes  shopping quick and convenient.

The Mall concept has been around since 1922.  J.C. Nichols Company opened the Country Club Plaza close to Kansas City, Mo.  Let’s fast forward 88 years.  Located in Dongguan, China is the South China Mall, dubbed the World’s Largest Shopping Mall at 7.1 million square feet.  To help you get an idea just how big this place is, it is about 4.3 times larger than the Raymond James Stadium where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers play.

Yet there are certain products that you won’t find in the Mall, for example flooring, kitchen cabinets, and paint stores.  Now why is that?  Could the Retail Gurus believe that, more time, with individual service in a more quiet atmosphere was needed for the consumer to purchase flooring or cabinets?  You have to admit that a Mall can be overwhelming at times with the “Mall Traffic” (especially when school is out), displays crowded together and salespersons  that communicate through a device that seems like it is growing out of their ear.

At ProSource of Pinellas County, located right off of Ulmerton Road and South Belcher Road, you won’t experience the “Mall” atmosphere. You will, however, be able to purchase the all of your flooring and cabinet products at one location.  Our Account Managers are trained flooring and cabinet experts that will provide you with the utmost in individualized customer service and in a quiet atmosphere .  Even though we have over 25, 000 samples, the Showroom is well organized for an easy selection.   Maybe the Retail Gurus were right about certain products.  Stop by and test their theory.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read this article.   If you’d like more information on laminates, hardwoods, carpet, tile, natural stone, or any other types of  flooring, please contact ProSource of Pinellas County at 727-545-9935 or visit our website at www.prosourcefloors.com/pinellascounty.
